About The Department

The Department of Nepali offers courses focusing on Nepali language, literature, and culture. The department aims to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Nepali language and literature. Students learn to appreciate and analyse Nepali literary works while developing proficiency in the language.

Mission and Vision

The Department of Nepali College aspires to become a premier hub for the study and promotion of Nepali language, literature, and culture. We aim to cultivate a dynamic academic environment where students explore and celebrate Nepal’s rich heritage through innovative programs, cutting-edge research, and engaging cultural events. Our mission is to serve as a driving force in preserving and advancing Nepali culture on both local and global stages, instilling a deep sense of pride and identity within Nepali-speaking communities worldwide.

Our mission is to produce graduates who are proficient in the Nepali language, well-versed in its literature, and culturally sensitive, ready to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Nepali culture in society.

Academic Philosophy:

The programmes offered by the Department are designed to provide a general understanding of Nepali language and literature. It also endeavours to prepare the student for employment in the academia, and government, or to pursue graduate work toward advanced degrees in Nepali language and literature or related fields.
