About The Department

Year of Establishment

2008 (General)

The Department of Hindi was established in the year 2008, offering a Program course option for students, with the intention of providing the students with an essential subject to study. Currently the department offers courses only for Minor and Elective courses for students of other Major and Honours or Program disciplines. The Department of Hindi aims to make the students better citizens besides giving them a good formal education in Hindi language and literature, which itself is an essential linguistic skill even in seeking job opportunities in the government sector.

Academic Philosophy:

The programmes offered by the Department are designed to provide a general understanding of Hindi language and literature. It also endeavours to prepare the student for employment in the academia, and government, or to pursue graduate work toward advanced degrees in Hindi language and literature or related fields.
